Core Judgment Checkpoint
Status: The gate between the on-ramp and everything else · no badge, no certificate — the right to continue
The artifact
The ten-question analysis of a real AI decision you faced — your answers, your evidence, and what would change your mind.
What you must demonstrate
You are ready to move into any Applied Pack when you can:
- Explain what a prediction engine is actually doing without slipping into "thinking" or "knowing" language
- Decide, with reasons, when AI is the wrong tool
- Measure net value including verification cost
- Name failure modes and ownership for a real use case
- Answer the 10 Questions for a real project
- Distinguish internal assets from shiny tools
- Produce evidence of judgment rather than evidence of attendance
The standard
Your artifact is scored against the Verification Rubrics — six criteria: Clarity, Grounding, Accountability, Verification, Uncertainty, Decision quality.
Passing means:
- At least Acceptable on every criterion
- Strong on Accountability and Verification
- The filters are applied without being prompted
- You can explain what would make you change your mind
- You do not treat fluent AI output as finished work
Anything less is incomplete — revise it.
If you are still weak
If any of those capabilities are still fuzzy, stay here and strengthen the work. Moving forward without them just recreates the original problem this curriculum was built to fix.
What the gate gives you
The right to enter any Applied Pack. That is the whole reward, and it is the one that matters.
